There was a shooting at Cabana Club last week.  I think this brings up the great topic of what kind of crowd a club owner is willing to accept into his/her venue.  Times are TOUGH in Hollywood right now and nightclub owners still have to pay crazy rent each month.  I think this leads them to bring in promoters that bring in a less than desirable clientele.  It’s the classic short term vs long term dilemma.  Short term you will have a decent amount of money generated on these nights to help with your rent, costs, ect.  Long term, something like a shooting can happen and literally kill your venue’s name for any future parties leaving you even worse off than before.  Time will tell if Cabana Club can recover from this or if they will have to throw in the towel and start remodeling.

A man was hospitalized early this morning after being struck by what appears to be random gunfire while standing outside a Hollywood nightclub, authorities said.

Two of the officers who responded to the shooting outside the Cabana Club were injured when a nearby crowd threw rocks and bottles at them, Los Angeles Police Sgt. Enrique Mendoza said.

Officers found a man about 24 years old with a gunshot wound to his left foot when they arrived at the club on Ivar Avenue just south of Sunset Boulevard about 2:30 a.m., Mendoza said.

The victim was transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in stable condition.

Witnesses reported seeing a white Dodge Charger leave the scene, Mendoza said. It was not known how many suspects were involved and no descriptions were available.

Jeffery Ross is GONE!

Round two of the seventh-season premiere of “Dancing with the Stars” started off on the right foot Tuesday night, as most of the ballroom babies were given a second shot to show the judges what they can do. With the first-night jitters out of the way, some stars shined, some fell behind and one kissed his dancing shoes goodbye.

The first cut wasn’t exactly the deepest; it was just the most obvious. The judges had their say Monday night, when they gave comedian Jeffrey Ross the lowest sJecores seen on the show since the days of Master P and Tucker Carlson. Viewers, evidently, were in complete agreement. As reported by MSNBC.

This is the check “Girls Gone Wild” porntrepreneur Joe Francis gave to the Wynn Hotel to cover a marker he got back in Feb. of 2007. The Wynn claims he still hasn’t paid the marker back. The third season of “Heroes” premiered Monday with a two-hour long season premiere. To describe it in one word: intense.

All of the original characters were reintroduced, including Niki and Nathan, who supposedly died last season.

Peter (Milo Ventimiglia) seems to have pulled a 180 by taking the future into his own hands. The sudden departure of his old character is sure to make the new season interesting. His constant time-shifting provides important glimpses into the future that once again, show the world coming to an end.

Mohinder (Sendhil Ramamurthy), in some sort of desperation to understand the meaning of what he’s trying to cure, injected himself with some sort of solution to help him develop “powers.”

While super strength is enough to score him a getaway from two muggers and a night with Maya, it seems to lead to his undoing as his skin starts to peel away. One can only wonder what this is going to lead to.

Unfortunately for the rest of the world, Claire (Hayden Panettiere) was unable to defend herself against a home invasion involving the evil Sylar (Zachary Quinto). To make a long story short, he takes her powers (no brain eating necessary), and now has the healing factor that makes him invincible.

In other words, the world is going to end, thanks to Sylar and few of the other people that Elle accidentally released.

The trailers for this season explain that some of the “heroes” from last season have a dark side and are not afraid to use it, hence the title of the show: “Heroes: Villains.” A scene from last night’s episode also showed a group of characters destroying other “heroes“ from last season.

Of the new villains, Niki, and Mrs. Petrelli (Cristina Rose) seem to be the most surprising additions to a class also held by Sylar.

Season three of “Heroes” looks quite promising. New characters are introduced and old characters show different, unexpected sides to themselves.

Monday nights are sure to be filled with hour-long, powerful episodes of “Heroes.”

Reuters report that Clay Aiken’s will finally acknowledge he is GAY! After years of dodging questions about his sexual orientation, he will finally answer in all truthfulness to PEOPLE Magazine. Clay is quoted on the front cover of the magazine as confessing “Yes, I’m Gay,” and the reason for being truthful now is because: “I cannot raise a child to lie or to hide things.” Clay Aiken is a proud father of a baby boy! Can you imagine how confused the child is going to be?

As y’all likely know, a deadly plane crash claimed the lives of four and critically injured former Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker, and celebrity spinmaster DJ AM shortly before midnight on Friday.

Both Travis and DJ AM are being treated at the Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Augusta, Georgia for extensive burns. The two, no doubt, have received excellent care. The Still facility is reportedly the largest burn center in the country and the third largest in the world.

Dr. Fred Mullins, the Still Center’s medical director, told reporters Sunday morning, “I think these patients are going to make a full recovery. Anybody who can survive a plane crash is very lucky.”

The doctor went on to say that Travis has burns on his torso and lower body, and AM has burns on a portion of his head and arm, but neither sustained any other injuries from the crash.

Both are currently in “critical but stable” condition.

The burns the two suffered were classified as second- and third-degree burns.

The doc would not tell reporters the types of treatment Travis and AM were undergoing at the center. He also would not answer a reporter’s question about what percentage of their bodies were burned.

According to insiders, Travis’ fighting spirit was on clear display at the crash site, despite his severe injuries. Travis was supposedly ‘defiant after the accident and didn’t want to be lifted in a helicopter, but rather an ambulance, so they had to knock him out.’

Friends of DJ AM reported on Saturday that he was placed in a doctor-induced coma and underwent skin grafts.

Travis’ ex-wife, Shanna Moakler, left Los Angeles Saturday afternoon for Georgia. She’s going to be by his hospital bedside to see him through this rough time.

AM’s sister, Lara, and her husband were reportedly on their way to the burn center as well. MTV reported that Nicole Richie, AM’s ex-fiancee “is in shock” and that Richie’s current beau, Joel Madden, “knows Travis and also feels terrible and hopes they recover. This is terrible news for both of them.”

There was a rumor going around on Saturday that the private jet was hired to get everyone back to the LA-area quickly because the wife of Chris Baker, one of the four who died in the crash, was in labor. That rumor was immediately debunked by Travis’ publicist.

We’re praying for AM and Travis’ speedy recoveries.
